Hi Brian -
I was led to your post because of my interest and involvement in Nordic walking. The experience you describe while walking is one I share, and one of the biggest reasons I like it. I'm always amazed after going Nordic walking how peaceful and "in the zone" I feel. I wonder whether the bilateral/quadripedal motion, which I understand engages both sides of the brain, contributes to this..
I'm so impressed with your blog, and follow similar information in the news. Thank you so much for providing this very thoughtful and interesting digest of brain science topics!
Here is a link to some research that may interest you - just in case you do not have it already. To me it sound like the sort of thing you are doing for yourself so it may not be a new idea.

I don't think it is conclusive but you may want to consider it. It doesn't really touch on Tomatis.
Long long ago when I took a course in Systems Engineering, there was a example of counter intuitive effects. If you have dense traffic, people think it will be solved by widening the road. No, that makes traffic denser. More cars come on to the road than the wider road can accommodate. Repeat many times and you get LA.
We found that activity of the anterior default mode network is inhibited during mindfulness meditation. Follow this link to read the abstract of a poster that will be presented at the Meeting of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping in two weeks:

Best regards
Thanks for the heads up.

The peer coaching concept is brilliant. Do you know of anyone that does it in New York? I'd love to connect with more people who are as dedicated to self-improvement with ADHD as I am.
Sorry Mike, I don't know anyone who does it anywhere else. I think we are sort of pioneers. I will spell out the process we have been using in the next couple of posts and perhaps that might prove useful.
Very intriguing findings (says a salt junkie!).
